THE 6 MONTH LACROSSE SEASON GOES AS FOLLOWS:
NOV-DEC 2015 - FUN SCRIMMAGES ON SELECTED SATURDAYS AT SVMS
JAN 2015 ALL TEAMS START PRACTICES ON T & TH OR M & W DEPENDING ON THE TEAM
U9 Boys and Girls practice twice a week and the ALL the Girls do not start until‚ Feb 1st!!
JAN‚ TO THE MIDDLE OF MAY PRACTICES CONTINUE AND GAMES START ON SATURDAYS WITH THE END OF YEAR PARTY TOWARDS THE‚ MIDDLE TO END OF MAY 2016
Every New Player is required to Purchase a new uniform this season except the Boys U9's their uniforms are included in the Registration this Season!!

Santa Cruz County Lacrosse Association (SCCLA) is a nonprofit and VOLUNTEER organization. We rely on volunteers for all duties ranging from coaches, to team managers, to board members.  Please help us run a strong and efficient organization by volunteering for one of the many positions listed below.  Your time and talent will be greatly appreciated by the board and your player. Thank You.

SCCLA Volunteer Positions

 

 

Governing Board Positions:

 

President - Oversee all functions of the SCCLA; ensure all board approved action items are completed. Attend monthly meetings. Time commitment: 20-25 hours/year

Treasurer - Responsible for accounts payable and receivable for SCCLA, assist in yearly taxes and audits.  Attend Monthly meetings. Time Commitment: 15-20 hours/year

Secretary - Attend and record all SCCLA monthly board meetings, post meeting minutes to board members. Time commitment: 12 hours/year

Auditor - Assist SCCLA Board with once yearly audit of financial statements. 

Time commitment: approximately 15 hours/year

Fundraising Officer - Responsible for annual fundraiser for SCCLA.  Attend monthly meetings.  Time Commitment: 15 hours/year

Recruiting Officer- Responsible for recruitment of players for both seasonal and summer league. Attend monthly meetings.  Time Commitment: approximately 12 hours/year

Web Master - Responsible for SCCLA website updates and maintenance. Attend monthly meetings. Time Commitment: 15 hours/year

 

 

At Home Positions:

 

Awards Manager - (1 person) Responsible to order player awards and coaches end of the year gifts.  Time Commitment: 8 hours/year

End of Year Party Coordinator - (1 person) Communicate with team managers and SCCLA Board to organize the yearly pot-luck & BBQ for the league. Time Commitment: 10 hours

Publicity Officer - (1 person) Responsible for submitting articles for publication about lacrosse and all SCCLA teams to our local newspapers. Time Commitment: 10 hours/yearly

Registration Officer - Assist SCCLA Board with yearly registration duties. 

Time Commitment: approximately 10 hours/year

Uniform Officer - Assist SCCLA Board in design and ordering team uniforms and spirit wear.  Time Commitment: 15 hours/year

Social Media Manager - (1 per team) Set-up and update a Facebook page and or Twitter feed for your team. Time commitment: variable

Tax Preparation - (1 person) Responsible for filing SCCLA yearly taxes with the IRS.

Time Commitment: 15 - 20 hours/year

Team Manager - (1 per team) Assist head coach with team communications, create team snack schedule, update league stats.  Time Commitment: 2 hours/week

Volunteer Coordinator - (1 person) Assist SCCLA Board with communication to all volunteers, ensure all volunteer positions are filled.  Time Commitment: 8 hours/year

 

Computer Savvy Positions:

 

Auditor - (1 person) Assist SCCLA Board with once yearly audit of financial statements. 

Time commitment: approximately 15 hours/year

Game Day Volunteers:

 

End Line Manager: (2 for each team) Responsible to replace and return all game balls on the end lines during and after each home game. Time Commitment: home games

Game Set-Up - (2 for each U9 team) Assist with field set-up for U9 games. 

Time Commitment: 15 min per game

Game Transition - (2 for each U11 team) Assist with field transition from U9 format to U11 format.  Time Commitment: 15 min per game

Game Break-Down - (2 for each U15 team) Assist with field clean-up & storage of equipment. Time Commitment: 15- 20 minutes per game

Photographer - (1 per team) Responsible for taking and distributing photos of games to your team parents and coaches.  Time Commitment: weekly games

Side Line Manager: (2 per team) You wear a vest, walk the spectator side of the field, and answer questions. You are also responsible to keep the peace, but most often you will be asked "Where's the bathroom?"  Time commitment: alternating home games

Score Keeper - (3 per team) - Manage game score at home games only.  BEST seat in the House, easiest way to learn the game and training will be provided. 

Time Commitment:  alternating weekly games

Stats Manager - (1 per team) - Assist head coach with team stats.

Time Commitment: weekly games

Timer - (3 per team) - Manage game clock at field table.  BEST seat in the house, training will be provided. Time Commitment: alternating weekly games

Videographer - (1 per team) Responsible for videotaping games for coach review. 

Time Commitment: weekly games

 

 

Practice Day Positions:

 

Head Coach - (1 per team) - Responsible for coaching all practices/games, and game day activities for your team.  This position requires US Lacrosse certification. 

Time commitment: weekly practices and games

Assistant Coach - (1-2 per team) Assist head coach with all practices and game day activities. This position requires US Lacrosse certification. 

Time commitment: weekly practices and games

Drill Assistant - (1-3 per team) Assist head and assistant coaches with running drills and plays at team practice ONLY. This position does NOT require US Lacrosse certification.

Time Commitment: weekly practices

 

 

2016 Levels and Registration Fees

This year the Registration fee covers 6 months of Lacrosse, Referees, Field Rental, Game Equipment, Admin costs, Awards, Pictures, Coaches Gifts, End of year Party.

You will not be asked to pay for anything else later in the season except for a Fundraiser each year, we are including all costs in the registration up to May 15th, 2016. The Allstar Tournaments are an additional $225 per player plus the cost of a pennie if you do not already have one.

 
  • PAYMENT PLANS AVAILABLE For those who wish to spread out payments, we will accept three monthly installments in Sept., Oct., and Nov. 1st  or work out a different payment plan!


Each New Player is required to buy a Uniform except the U9 Boys. Equipment Purchase required in November, each player will need a helmet, pads, gloves and a stick and mouth guard and we do offer Equipment Scholarships!


Rain Dates: There will be NO make-up sessions and NO refunds given for sessions canceled because of rain. There are no Refunds after Jan. 1st of the current Season for any Reason!!!
